Empowerment means more than Coaching & Supervision

How do we deal with the increasing pressure to conform in our society and in our fields of work (acute climate crisis, various inequalities, populism)?

Our emotions are put to the test every day when we perceive political unrest and environmental changes, when we follow the news, when we want to find new, smarter approaches to our lives – not only, but also in the intelligent use of digital living and working conditions. Coaches and supervisors hear daily about experiences of crisis, worries, fears and increasing aggression in society. How do we perceive these diverse changes that also affect us? How do we deal with our mental and physical health, as well as with the physical and psychological perceptions of our clients? Will coaching and supervision respond to the intensifying crises in society in a rather passive and reserved manner, in accordance with our paradigm of confidentiality, or will we understand empowerment as personal responsibility and the strengthening of fundamental democratic values? What future prospects can science offer us? Are we ‘equipped’ for a clear positioning?

We have discussed these questions and many additional aspects in our book ‘Empowerment – neue Verantwortung im Coaching’ (Springer Nature, Nov. 2025) with many professional experts from coaching and supervision, and we want to intensively exchange the results and insights for the future of coaching and supervision with the participants.
 

Linguistic comprehension
The plenary presentation will be in German.
Translation into English, Spanish and Czech and back into German will be provided. Instructions on how to enter the language box can be found here. We kindly ask the participants with translation needs to inform the office about their coming by 17.02.2026.
As for the small groups, together we will ensure language understanding and communication.
