Every day we are flooded by narratives of scarcity, convincing us that we are not enough. Those stories telling us who we should be activate our inner critic and focus on deficits. Our clients experience the same dynamics and need our support to reflect upon what stories are to be continued, which are to be abandoned and which are worth initiating to flourish in times of insecurity and massive transformations. 

What would happen if we embraced the multiple stories we are surrounded by to live up to our fullest potential. Moreover, what would change if instead of focusing on the stories of scarcity we would support our clients to notice abundance and the chance to become conscious authors of their own life stories? Accordingly to David Drake, the creator of the Narrative Coaching „Coaching often focuses too much on the individuals and does not pay attention to their environment, and the collective narratives that impact them“. In this webinar, we are going to dive into the realm of working with stories at the individual, collective and global level (with the systemic approach) and enhance our learning with the transcultural perspective. As the author of the book „The Art of Storytelling across cultures“ with chapters on the narrative coaching, the neuroscience of storytelling and importance of storylistening, Joanna will share the newest research and hands on coaching interventions. You also may find inspirations on how to work with stories in the interviews with multiple guests Joanna had the pleasure to host in her podcast www.onewordstories.net  

Procedure
We start with a 20 minutes Welcome Round in small groups for exchange and getting to know each other. After the input, there will be time for questions, suggestions, debate and comments.

Linguistic comprehension
The plenary presentations will be in English.
Translation into German, Spanish and Czech and back into English will be provided. Instructions on how to enter the language box can be found here. We kindly ask the participants with translation needs to inform the office about their coming by 15.07.2025.
As for the small groups, together we will ensure language understanding and communication.
