EASC is pleased to formalise its cooperation with the German Organisation for International Cooperation (GIZ), represented by Beate Warczinski, Project Manager of the Syrian Professionals Initiative in the field of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS).

EASC is pleased to formalise its cooperation with the German Organisation for International Cooperation (GIZ), represented by Beate Warczinski, Project Manager of the Syrian Professionals Initiative in the field of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS).

This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to supporting the development of qualified supervision professionals within the Syrian context.

As part of this joint effort, EASC will conduct two mentor supervision workshops in November for a group of 11 Syrian supervisees. These sessions are designed to equip participants with the remaining competencies they need in order to step into supervisory roles within our association. In addition, on 25 November, a further group of Syrian supervisors will participate in a mentor supervision workshop led by Susanne and Mechthild.

Amina and Susanne, Vice-President and President of EASC, shared their reflections on the first workshop:

“Yesterday, we had the pleasure of holding an online workshop with five supervisors from Syria, facilitated by Susanne and myself, with Mechthild joining as an observer. After their documents were approved by the CQS, this workshop—focused on both individual and group supervision—was the final step in their admission process.

The experience was truly enriching. Despite working under extremely challenging circumstances, the participants demonstrated exceptional professional competence and dedication. We are honoured to welcome them into the EASC community.”

The overarching goal of this initiative is to welcome these professionals as certified Supervisors, thereby strengthening the EASC network and expanding MHPSS support capacities across the region. We look forward to the positive impact this collaboration will foster and to the meaningful contributions these newly trained Supervisors will make to the field.
